Hi, first of all - thank you for all the work on the extension and the new update. The product is amazing and overall I quite like the new update.

However, is there now no way to export individual definitions from the Dictionary to the Card Exporter? To be clear, I mean that each dictionary usually has multiple definitions (ie, JMDict will list out 6 bullet points) and now it will send all bullet points over instead of choosing the ones you want. That has a huge impact on how long it takes me to create cards as I now have to manually go in and highlight and delete definitions as opposed to just clicking the one I want. This seems like a serious downgrade in functionality from the old version.

      Thanks!

@stevimigaku Huh. That’s super weird. Previously when I was using the old Migaku (Anki) dictionary it let me send the individual definitions within a same dictionary over.

I know at least JMDict and a J-J pitch accent dictionary I had loaded in the old version had broken each different definition bullet point down to a separate “block/item” that could be sent to the card creator by just clicking the Anki button next to it. I never used highlighting/selecting before but was able to just send the relevant meaning(s). Now, the entirety of each dictionary’s definitions are listed in a single block for me so if I just click the button it sends all 2+ definitions over instead of just the meanings I want.

Not sure what was causing that if not differing functionality as I’m using the same dict files. Whatever the case, the highlighting method does the trick on this version. Thanks for the help!

Not sure what exactly you mean as nothing in this regard changed.
Before with the dictionary addon you could click the arrow to sent the whole definition over to the card, or select the part you want before clicking the arrow to only sent that part over.
Now you can do exactly the same.
