Wrong word in browser extension, creating a flashcard
-
Hi!
I want to report, that when I create a flashcard from the browser extension, the Migaku dictionary, it´s taking a different word than it should. In this case, the word i translate is "Donkey", but it´s taking "Fly".I disabled this button, since I don't want more word tabs to appear than the one I selected.
Is there any way to solve this?
Many thanks in advance!

Like I wrote, we will include a feature that lets people ignore this.
But all features that rely on the browser extension knowing what you know wont work then, obviously.Until that option is out, the easiest way is just parse it as you did, hover over the words in the sentence that you do know and press 3 or K to mark them known. Only leave the word you dont know out.
In the beginning it may seems like a lot of work to mark all words known, but if you do it like I wrote above, it will take you like 2 weeks to teach the extension your knowledge. I looks like more work than it is in my opinion. And its really useful. Afterwards it unlocks a lot of the useful functions, like frequency exporting, find 1T, export 1T and all of that.

I kind of have the same problem. When I see an english series and want to add the word "decoy" from a sentence like the following, it is not possible. I cannot use the feature, because I do not want to include in my anki card the definitions and images of: "We", "are", "brought", "into", "the", "world", etc... And it would be a lot of work to tell the software each word I do not know. This is just not possible! What can be a solution?
Thanks, Paul

Not exactly sure. But looking at your word field, the extension thinks that all of those are unknown to you. The extension tracks your known words and whenever you export a sentence it tries to look up all unknown words (that the extension thinks are unknown to you) and adds them to the word field and looks them up.
You are trying to export a specific word and without marking words as known, you are kind of working against the system. You can see what the extension thinks you known and don't know when you parse a text with learning status enabled. All unknown words are underlined in red.
Currently there is no way to ignore this feature, as a lot of the extension is build on the idea that you go through your content and mark words as known and unknown. We will give users the option tho to ignore this and just create cards.
If you export a sentence, do it with the tab mode enabled and post a picture, so I can be sure.
