It seems like we will lose all the flexibility that we had and supported... after paying for them to keep developing what we had.
Sorry, but Migaku will never be the ONLY source of flashcards. We add manually, from Kindle, from other texts somewhere else... from Lessons that we have with tutors that write in a spreadsheet, and so on.
Then we need the flexibility to work more flexible with each type of deck (from book, from movies, from courses..., each one may have different priorities, etc)The beauty of Anki is that we can have all sorts of flashcards in one place.
Maybe they want to recreate the wheel...
And it seems they don't reply in their "SUPPORT CHANNELS" -

Yes, we will be creating iOS, android and web apps for our new Migaku SRS.We always want to try to accommodate every learner's needs. This includes being able to create high quality flashcards from many different kinds of content and we hope that we can provide that for people at every stage of learning and learning through different mediums. I can say that we can definitely provide the same basic card creation functionality that Anki has, and more.
Having said that, these things will take time to develop so we are thankful for your patience. We want to use these features as much as you, so I can't wait until its finished!
