      After parsing text from a news article online and hitting Ctrl + Q on a word I wanted to make a card for, every word from the sentence is defined instead of just the one word I'm hovering over. So I end up getting a crazy mutant card.

      How do I make a card for a single word?

      Is this because I am completely new to Anki and Migaku and have no imported words? Thus, it does not know what my "1T" words are and thinks I know no vocabulary in my language?

      I am a late intermediate~early advanced learner of Japanese so my vocabulary is sizeable, but I just have no history with Anki or Migaku. How do I make use of this program without having to tediously add
      unnecessary cards for words which I am certain I know?

      Sorry and thank you in advance!

        The only kinda workaround for now is to add a bunch of words to an anki card and set the interval of that card to over 21 days.
        We will be adding a level feature tho, where you can select your current level and set a bunch of words as known.
        When I switched to the extension I just marked all words in sentences I wanted to export as known (except the one that was new). Took about 1 week to get the extension pretty close to my level.

          @anon-7l when you see a new words on netflix. you hover on words you have known. Press "k" to change it to known status, leave behind words you don't know, after that you press "Q",(not ctrlQ) to create that card. Only words you don't know will display on the MGK dictionary.
          With some sentences you know all the words just ignore it.

            I also discovered that when watching videos on Netflix, even when I highlight a single word + Q, the entire subtitle line from which it came from gets defined instead of the single highlighted word... thank you for your response though

              @huong Hmm, okay.

              That seems tedious, so I want to try to find a workaround if possible.

              I am wondering if there is any other efficient workflow besides Ctrl + Q where I can create 1T sentence cards when coming across a word in the wild that I know off the top of my head is unknown.

                @anon-7l You must gradually mark words that you have known first. Hover on them, press {k}, it stands for known.
