A thing to add for YouTube. The extension cannot (yet) do OCR on hard subs (subs that are in the video itself). On YouTube or Netflix soft subs are used to create cards (the subs that you can turn on and off on YouTube). If you want to look for videos on YouTube that have soft subs that you can use, you can do so with https://youglish.com/japanese.
You can just look for any word and then click through the videos and find one you want to create cards from.

As for the second point, I would need to see some examples. As @Daichi said, the parses for all languages need some work, but it is far from what you seem to describe. There are small errors here and there. But 90% of sentences are parsed fine. Do you maybe have an example with screenshot etc.?

Didn't see the image. Can you give the link to the article? This seems like a problem with the specific site you are using and not the parser per se.

Checked the article from the link I can see in your screenshot. Yes, that is a problem with that specific site. The build in furigana on the site interferes with the extension. The same article on the normal NHK site, parses 増えている fine (see screenshot). https://imgur.com/a/nUCxIXU

Fixed. The problem was a missing or corrupted picture on a card.

Notice my error has to do with a PNG file.

You can try 3 things to get it working.

In Anki, go to Tools > Check Media > Tag missing. Then go to the card browser and select "missing-media" from the sidebar under Tags. Check and delete missing pictures.

This wasn't enough for me. I had to do the following to check the pictures of the cards that were created after the last successfully uploaded card in Migaku Memory.

Cancel the import on study.migaku.io after you get the error. Open the deck, check the top card that was able to be uploaded, and remember its term In Anki, go to the card browser, select the deck you are trying to upload on the sidebar Order the cards by Created Date and search for the top term (step 2) in the search bar Erase the term, and you should see that word in the browser with other cards that were created around the same time. Going from Create Date, look at the contents of the cards created after the term Check the Screenshot or Image fields for missing or corrupted images, and delete them Sync and try the import again in Migaku Memory

If that doesn't work, check your Anki media folder for images created at around the same time as the top card and check for a small file size like 1kb, and delete it if it's empty. I had one of those and the picture was a tiny dot.

Sorry that you have trouble with the setup.
Due to Anki being so flexible, a few set ups have to be made for everything to work and it doesn't work out of the box. I would recommend that you at first select the "Migaku Japanese" note type in the left of the two drop down menus in the orange field (I assume you are learning Japanese).
Then at the bottom you should uncheck "Add cards automatically".

You can also use the default card type, but then it has to be set up first.

Do you have a Firewall or similar active that could block communication? Other Anki addons could also be a cause.

Yes, that is possible with the Anki addon, but due to some troubles with Forvo, it has problems with anything above 5 cards. So for now its not realy that useful.

Then you have to go into the card creator of the dictionary window and uncheck this box for the respective field.

Just be warned that this will remove the syntax, which depending on the language adds several features to cards.

But depending on how your card template is setup, the blank card on front issue might just be fixed by running Tools > Empty Cards > Delete.

I assume that something on the side is interfering with the parsing or the other way around. I don't think that there is much that can be done right now.

The subtitles for the video have to be imported. When you hover over a video, in the top right corner you will see two buttons, where you can do so.

@anon-134 If you never figured this out, this is usually on Netflix when you have hardware acceleration turned on. Turning hardware acceleration off should help, however it might be laggy when drawing large video windows.
