I've wanted to use this plug in for so long on Netflix but after over a year I'm still unable to watch anything without this audio lag. I'm using Chrome, I have the netflix test op in toggled to off as recommended and I'm on a desktop so the plug in your laptop fix isn't really applicable. Super unfortunate that I seem to be in the subcategory of people who just can't use this tool on Netflix.

i'm still experiencing this despite updating my chrome and making sure my migaku extension is at version 0.9.9.23 (i even reinstalled migaku and still not able to select any language) - any help with troubleshooting?

@moyga Sorry about this, a fix is probably not coming until the rework that will release in the next 6 months.

For now I can only recommend using the browser extension in a different chrome profile or a different browser like edge or chromium

I just encountered this problem and fixed it. Turns out I had Nord VPN's 'Threat Protection' on. If you're having this problem then I suggest you try disabling things regarding security and popup blocking.

Don't worry I understand those concerns. We are well aware of of those problems too. Be it communication, speed of updates or similar. And obviously also the concerns regarding Anki.
Hopfully we can leave those behind with the reworked-extension and once this current phase is over 😅

Is this still not resolved? I'm on a week's trial of Migaku, but I don't see much point in trying it when I can't link it to Anki.

On Mac, reinstalling also fixed it. I also backed up my word database to be safe, but it did pull it in from Migaku cloud when I clicked sync in the settings menu.

But that has nothing to do with the bracket removal that is being discussed here. That is just because いつも and 通り are two words. If you want to look for phrases in the pop up dictionary then you can press shift + z and the pop up will ignore the parsing.

switching the cards from the old ones to the new ones fixed it

This has been resolved. Thank you Stevi! On the orange head on the top left of the screen, you have to make sure that your target language is selected to be able to just hover over a word (while pressing shift) and see its definition. Also for anki card creation, make sure that "Migaku Japanese" is selected (so that the anki card will auto-populate from Netflix/YouTube).

Are there plans to add the catch up button in the near future? Being a student in language school, it is a really helpful feature and one that I miss constantly.
