  The Migaku Browser Extension Community Beta Release
  We'd like some help testing the updated Migaku Browser Extension before it's released on the Chrome Store. If you'd like to try it, it's available now!

  Please note that:

  This update is not restricted to Alpha testers, everyone can test it! This release needs to be manually installed (detailed directions are included in the release document linked below) After installing you will need to reinstall your dictionaries, frequency lists and words lists, and reconfigure your preferred settings This release is not our complete rebuilt version of the extension.

  **What this Release Includes: **

  Support for Viki and Animelon The new “Ignored” word status Creating cards through the popup dictionary using the currently searched word as the Target Word Target Word selection window when creating 0 Target, or Multi-Target cards.   I think most of whats in store for Anki in terms of development is mostly bug fixes as all the ideas we have for improving the SRS experience for users are not possible with Anki. But that is outside of my expertise as I am not a developer.

  I think most of the improvements in terms of usability for the current users can be gained with improvments to the browser extension. And the work on the re-worked extension is in full swing, with a lot of improvments to sentence detection, parsing and what not. Thats mostly the stuff we posted in the #project-updats channel.

  When I create a card from a video that has traditional subs but the Migaku extension converts it to simplified. If I create a card from the converted subs, it shows the traditional text on the card and not the simplified version.

  When creating a card via the migaku extension, the card has some information in square brackets, I would like not to have this added

  Fixed. The problem was a missing or corrupted picture on a card.

  Notice my error has to do with a PNG file.

  Max retries exceeded with url: /wp-content/uploads/imgs/1/c/1cb836c0-s.png

  You can try 3 things to get it working.

  In Anki, go to Tools > Check Media > Tag missing. Then go to the card browser and select "missing-media" from the sidebar under Tags. Check and delete missing pictures.

  This wasn't enough for me. I had to do the following to check the pictures of the cards that were created after the last successfully uploaded card in Migaku Memory.

  Cancel the import on study.migaku.io after you get the error. Open the deck, check the top card that was able to be uploaded, and remember its term In Anki, go to the card browser, select the deck you are trying to upload on the sidebar Order the cards by Created Date and search for the top term (step 2) in the search bar Erase the term, and you should see that word in the browser with other cards that were created around the same time. Going from Create Date, look at the contents of the cards created after the term Check the Screenshot or Image fields for missing or corrupted images, and delete them Sync and try the import again in Migaku Memory

  If that doesn't work, check your Anki media folder for images created at around the same time as the top card and check for a small file size like 1kb, and delete it if it's empty. I had one of those and the picture was a tiny dot.
